Dear guests,
We are delighted to announce that the future of the Hotel Rigi, Vitznau is secured until further notice. After 45 years of welcoming guests, exciting changes lie ahead for our family-run business. These will be to the benefit of the hotel, our team, the village and most importantly, all our dear guests.
Through the engagement of an exciting new sponsor, a solution has been found for the Hotel Rigi, ensuring the continuation of the hotel operation, the restaurant and the bar. This will be under the management of Hotel Rigi AG with Linus Gutknecht as managing director in the long term. The parties have agreed to remain silent about the content of the agreement.
Whether from near or far, our guests can continue to look forward to our friendly team, spoiling them with finest of Swiss cuisine, all within the charming ambience of a traditional family business. Naturally, renovations and modernisations are planned, however, these should occur in the background so that the Rigi operation continues exactly as patrons know and appreciate it.
The planned last evening of the current business is the 3rd January 2026 an evening before the company holidays which last from 4th January up to and including 15th February 2026. From the 16th February, the day before Shrove Tuesday, we shall open again as usual. Table reservations for carnival, Christmas, New Year's Eve and Christmas parties are already possible. The hotel rooms are also open for bookings, so guests can continue to spend delightful holidays by Lake Lucerne cared for by our family atmosphere and warm welcome.
We would particularly like to say “thank you” to all our patrons for their loyalty and patience. It was not easy to find the right solution for the future of our company, now in it’s second generation. After many possibilities, the perfect solution was suddenly presented to us. We are therefore delighted to be able to share this wonderful news with all our guests and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Holtel Rigi, Restaurant and Bar for many more memorable moments in the heart of Switzerland.
